Catch Up

Whew...not only was this one (1) of our busiest winter weekends, but it also contained two (2) birthdays, one (1) death, and finally one (1) exodus. First thing first...
Prior to this week's breakneck pace our only indentured female sailor (the Bish) opted for a land-lubber's job (euthanizing cats for Christ), and we waved adieu as the HypnoVessel pulled out of port in preparation for the big week...
Then came Charlie's fourth (4th) birthday on Wednesday. We brought the whole affair (dinosaur pancakes and sledding) to a head at Big John's. You may have heard of Big John's; a mountain top Chuckie Cheese's replete with skee ball, Pac-Man, and pizza. Cade and Carrie's lucky streak stayed alive that night with a big win on the Deal or No Deal video game (is there no stopping that winning streak?)...
The same night as Charlie's party came news of Jay Reatard's death. Don't know the Reatard? If you've boarded the HypnoVessel at all in the last six (6) months you've probably heard the strains of Jay blaring out of our speakers. It ain't everyday that a musician comes along who electrifies both father and toddler alike. Jay (like another HypnoFave out of Memphis) accomplished that goal with a simple formula of three (3) chord rock-n-roll...
In the midst of our glee, grief, and busy weekend came Chloe's big thirteenth (13th). Oh God that's right, Chloe joined the ranks of insolent teens everywhere. Glued to her Ipod she entered her teens with what else...a shopping trip...
Finally, our very own intrepid seaman, Cory, set sail in a dingy to explore the seas out west and we eagerly await his reports on the coffee he endures. Yes, of course, I sent him away with plenty of HypnoCoffee...just in case he starts going through withdrawls. In his absence, Cade and I will share the responsibility of vessel commandeering, and we plan on beginning with the next two (2) days in dry dock. Enjoy your Tuesday and Wednesday respite, I know we will.
