Happy Birthday Summer

Today's an important day, Summer's birthday. You've seen the pics of tulips sent by Mama K last week, but today is the day. She is the very definition of my partner, the best co-worker I've ever had to spend the day with, the excellent and patient mother of our children, and if I play my cards right, she'll go through the rest of this life working and playing with me. Summer was born in Pensacola, FL in 1979, that's 29 years, I thought I'd save you the math. She grew up in Paducah, KY from about the age of 5 until at the age of 18 when she returned to Florida and soon there after she entered my orbit. I've enjoyed a much improved life ever since. Thank you Summer. I realize I am getting as sappy as a spigot in a Vermont maple, so let's get back to business. Curtis is putting the stove through it's paces. He's quiet, focused, and busy today. Everything looks beautiful and the smells improve any one's spirits. Today's offerings:

I'll start with the Apple Dumplings; each containing a half of an apple and enough butter in the dough to stop my heart, these are sure to help with whatever ails you except high cholesterol. Macaroons are back by popular demand, light, super-sweet, and melt in your mouth good. Another character back on the hit list is the West African Peanut Stew. The stew doesn't last long and always makes us happy. Of course the ever-present HypnoCookie is re-stocked and ready for consumption. Thanks to Kelly at Cortland Acres for the request of Apple Dumplings and the large order. She'll be running off with most of the yield tomorrow, but we'll have a few left for you.

Another nice weekend down and as always it looks as if the snow is coming mid-week. Nature's reward to us living life on the mountain.
