Weekend Expansion

Are you eating your greens? No...I thought not. Come by the HypnoVessel and fetch some greens, honey, and flying squirrel omelets made with genuine bald eagle eggs. Cade and I struggled most of yesterday hunting flying squirrel and battling a very upset mother eagle for her eggs, but the effort will be worth it. Gary, being a Parson's native, is an expert in eagle egg-on-the-face preparation.
Speaking of "egg-on-the-face" our local concerned citizenry held a PATH protest outside of a Friends of the Blackwater fundraiser featuring the governor. The governor was kind enough to stop and speak with the sign bearers, but claimed to have never heard of PATH before. The gov not being aware of PATH or playing possum may be discouraging, but it's always encouraging to see our neighbors stand-up for each other. Many of our neighbors stand to lose their land so that the power lines have a route through our state, and we the denizens of WV have the privilege of paying for the slight. The reaction to the protest was a mixed bag of thumbs-up and jeers. That's how it goes.
Race tomorrow!

That the Governor would say he'd not heard of PATH sounded odd upon reading it...so when I saw the Governor today at the Landis ribbon cutting I asked him whether last night he may have said to protesters that he'd never heard of PATH. He told me no, to the contrary, he discussed PATH with two female protesters and explained that he was not involved in the PATH project decisions. He said that he even corrected one of them on an interpretation of a related bill, saying that he should know, since he wrote the bill. I believed him, no prob. Perhaps pumped by my question, he then took several minutes during the dedication of Landis Realty's new building to discuss PATH and how related taxes should work. The Advocate's Chris Stadelman was busy with pen in hand, and followed up with a 30 minute one-on-one interview with the Governor. The protest helped precipitate his interview on TC soil, so maybe it will cause him to be more involved in seeing that families are not hurt by this project. I am hopeful that an Advocate article will come out soon covering the speech and interview. Would the Governor say he had not heard of PATH? If you believe that I'll let you in on the real truth about what happened in Roswell New Mexico...

Good work Pete. I always love when rumors I spread on the blog gain traction like that. The actual quote from Joe's lips was something to the affect of not knowing much about PATH, or some such statement to expedite his exodus. The gov is a politician, so do I believe he knows nothing of PATH? I believe he knows only what he is told to know, which is little. That's my limited experience with politicians, Joe Scarborough, Florida Rep. What really happened at Roswell was the testing of lasers and lsd on jack-a-lopes and the Chinese.

Let's not soon forget that this is the same Gov. that pulled a quick one and deemed WV "Open For Business," a costly mistake that was not done in pencil; he also recently announced that coal was WV's state rock....again, coal is our state rock (it's been Utah's since '91). Recognizing the stupendous good that coal has done for our state (ya know, giving DC juice, along with most of the profit) was the reason for this move that is almost as numb as Open for Biz.

If my memory serves me well, it was/is against the law to remove or destroy any state's official rock, mammal, mineral, bird, plant, etc...hmmmm, any thoughts on that?
