Sighing Relief or Yawning

Our part of Tucker County is exhaling as Virginia heads east again. The entire metro DC area enjoyed a brown and soggy weekend with us. Our shop fared well with reserves built up thanks to Summer's Uncle Chris and Joel and Katie Wolpert. Katie, the bagels you guys made were a real hit, especially the Pesto, thanks! Whitegrass Cafe set a record I hear, nice work (silver linings are better than just clouds). The quality of our area's eateries and of course coffee shop are very high. We enjoy excellent food, great hand-crafted beers, and everything in Mountain Made is amazing; it is certainly what helps bring so many to our backyard again and again. Speaking of high quality, Curtis is in the kitchen. Soups and baked goods today:

Split Pea Soup $4.50 14oz.

Roasted Cauliflower with Cheddar Soup $4.50 14oz.

Chocolate Tart with Strawberries and Walnuts $2.50

HypnoCookies $1.00

Cinnamon Rolls (not just for Gary)$1.00

Speaking of Gary, thanks for the change this morning, everyone pays with twenties, and Gary showed up with the necessary change. So many heroes this week. The Roasted Cauliflower is a bechamel sauce with the cauliflower roasted and added with cheddar cheese, and is John and Jodi approved. Discerning consumers have spoken! The Split Pea Soup is made with ham so vegetarians steer clear, but come one come all carnivores. The Tart is Curtis' homage to the passed holiday and the recipe was perfected last week. Good guinea pigs are hard to come by, but we appreciate the ones who made our Tart possible. HypnoCookies and Cinnamon Rolls are a standard down here and are unbelievably good. Thanks to all our neighbors, friends, and new friends for a great weekend. As the week gets back to normal and the snow falls again we'll enjoy the pace and fruits of our community amongst ourselves.
