Grazing on Whitegrass and the New Self Control

Getting out these days is a rarity. We are still adjusting to our new schedule, but Matt insisted. We met with Matt, Trevor, Ben, Jeremy (Bubba, in case you were wondering), and Kelly. Whitegrass was thumping last night, a good crowd, and Chip holding court as only he can. Mary, it was you wasn't it, made the most delicious tofu tacos. Tofu is like a blank slate, and as anyone who rebelled against their parents' sustentative upbringing in their 20's knows, can after preperation still taste like, well a curd. No regrets last night, good work! Not only was the food wholesome and delicious, the environment warm and welcoming, but Matt insisted on picking up the tab. If you are on the fence regarding windmills in our area, I suggest having dinner at Whitegrass with a wind farm engineer who is a good converstionalist and pays the check. The entire effect can have you asking, "bats, what bats?" Don't believe me?

Dinner and Charlie's dancing with Chip ended around 9pm, bedtime for us warriors of the pre-dawn, but the drive home may have put a new bedtime ritual into our familys' paradigm. We discussed the day's events and particularly Curtis' creations. The cookies...the muffins...the cinnamon rolls...what is in the cookies, who can name all the ingredients? Dessert became a pressing issue. Summer brings up Sarah's rich, sweet, and moist chocolate cake. What have our friends done? They are challenging my will power and that of my wife and kids, damn them. I didn't have my key to the shop and besides we would have to drive past our home to go to Thomas, or worse, stop at the house in order to get the key to the shop, and then go to Thomas. "It's just a couple miles." Thanks Chloe, but if Summer doesn't have her key to the shop then we'll just go home and chalk it up to self control and go to bed unsatisfied. (No jokes here please) Summer had her key!

Thanks today to Gary, Ruthie, Alice, and all the kind folks at Whitegrass (Janet especially) for the positive feedback we recieved yesterday. In response to Ruthie and Alice who request we post photos of the good looking owners...flattery will only get you cookies. The comments section is now open to everyone.
