Every Cup Made With Love

Thanks to Kate for providing nomenclature to our Indonesian dark roast blend: The Kama Sumatra! Well done Kate! We know what's on her mind and appreciate the machinations that brought such a brilliant name to the fore. Get some now, because once I go corporate you'll have to drink Instant Kama Sumatra. "Is that Kama Sumatra in your cup, or are you just happy to see me?", "Trouble getting up in the morning? Not anymore!" The possiblities are endless. More names are needed so don't take off those thinking caps just yet.

Anonymous is on to something. Gotta have a blackwater. I'm thinking of a blend. Maybe something like "Blackwater Crank."

Yep, Blackwater something...and you know the term refers to the tannin in the water...a tannery was within 1,000ft of the shop and the tannin from the fallen spruce and hemlocks was used to tan leather. Another term associated with "black water" rivers is "Leatherbark" -- a nice name with authentic 'roots' yet some obscurity (eg Hellbender).

"DiBacco" was the name of the proprietors of the old gas station and old shopnsave, a big name in the area and a man dearly loved by the community, Carmen DiBacco RIP. ie DiBacco's Espresso

Also, you had the Western Maryland Railroad come through the parking lot there, to haul coal, lumber and people north and east...
eg Roundhouse Roast

And of course there was the Babcock Lumber and Boom Company on the present site of Hypno, with keywords like Log Jam, Pulp, Mill, Stump Town, Skidder, Clearcut, Shay.
